The Wild Rift Icons Global Championships 2022, which will begin on June 14th, will feature 24 teams competing for the trophy. The League of Legends: Wild Rift will take place at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Center in Singapore. Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022 Schedule and Prize Pool

The event had been planned to take place in Madrid, Spain, at first. The event was relocated to Singapore due to COVID travel restrictions. At the upcoming world series event, 24 teams will compete for the world title and a share of the $2 million USD prize pool. 

Eight of the teams participating will advance directly to the group stage, while the remaining 16 will compete in the Play-ins. The Play-ins will be from June 14 to June 18. The group stage will start from June 21 to June 25, and the Knockout will be from July 1 to July 9.

Wild Rift Icons Global Championship 2022 Teams

The 16 teams that qualified for the Play-ins will be split into four groups of four teams each. In the Group Stage, the top eight teams will compete. ThePlay-Ins teams are:

  • JTeam
  • Unsold Stuff Gaming
  • Flash Wolves
  • RRQ
  • Buriram United
  • Sentinels
  • Rix GG
  • Game Lord
  • Freecs
  • T1
  • Furious Gaming

  • Keyd Stars
  • Liberty

Now, the top teams from the Play-Ins will be joining the regional champions who are already in the group stage. Once again, the 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four teams. Below are the group stage teams:

  • FunPlus Phoenix
  • Team Flash
  • KT Rolster
  • Sengoku Gaming
  • Omegha Esports
  • Leviatan
  • Immortals
  • Team Queso

Double-elimination brackets (BO3) will be used in the Play-Ins and Group Stages. A single-elimination bracket will be used for the Knockout, with the Quarterfinals and Semi-Finals being played in best-of-five (BO5) fashion, and the Grand Final in best-of-seven (BO7).

  • By winning the Wild Rift League (WRL) 2022 Season 1, FunPlus Phoenix qualified for the event. They are one of the top contenders who can win the trophy. 
  • KL Rolster and Sengoku will be looking to put their hands on the global trophy for the first time.
  • Team Queso and Team Flash are in great form.
  • Nova Esports, on the other hand, are expected to dominate the championship. 
  • The popular team from the Valorant Esports, Sentinels,  joined the Wild Rift scene in August 2021. They secured second place in the Wild Rift North America Series (WNS), while the first place was bagged by the Immortals.
