The Office has been one of the most loved web series for the fans over these years. Will there ever be an Office reunion?
The Office is an American mockumentary sitcom television series that depicts the everyday work lives of office employees at the Scranton Pennsylvania, branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. It first aired on NBC from March 24, 2005, to May 16, 2013. It has a total of nine seasons.
These seasons were included on several critics’ year-end top TV series lists, winning several awards such as a Peabody Award in 2006, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe Award for Carell’s performance, and four Primetime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Comedy Series, in 2006.
Now since the show ended the craze of the show began to light up again when in the current time due to all the OTT platforms showing it first it was Netflix and then Amazon Prime. It gets also aired on Peacock. The fans are hoping to see a possible reunion of The Office just like the popular show “FRIENDS.”
In March 2020, former showrunner Greg Daniels expressed doubts about a reboot is possible. However, that did turn out well.
Brian Baumgartner gives an update on The Office Cast Reunion
The Office Actor Brian Baumgartner recently interviewed with Showbiz Cheat Sheet where he was asked for an update regarding The Office reunion and this is what the best-selling author and actor told,
“Here’s the thing,” Baumgartner said, pausing. “I can’t do that. I can’t control that.” “I believe that something will happen,” he continued. “Do I believe that The Office is going to come back on the air? No.” For the record, neither do we. “But do I think something’s going to happen?” he added. “Yeah — I don’t think that’s a surprise.”
In episodes of The Office Deep Dive and its predecessor An Oral History of The Office, Baumgartner and his fellow Office cast members have teased the idea of a reunion show.
He also added that,
“Other people would have to say ‘yes’ as well, but I think it stands in terms of the network’s view [of] Greg Daniels,” said Baumgartner. “When he has an idea that he wants to execute and he can get enough people on board and excited about that idea, then that’s when [The Office reunion] is going to happen.”
It will be interesting to see whether they really come up with a reunion show or it will just be long lost dream for the fans.
