Albert Ramos-Vinolas

The 34-year-old has had a topsy-turvy year thus far. He produced some fine tennis at the Cordoba Open and won the competition. He also reached four semifinals at the Chile Open, the Estoril Open, the Swiss Open, and the Austrian Open.

At the recently-concluded Cincinnati Masters, Ramos-Vinolas failed to progress beyond the round of 64 as he was outplayed by the Italian Fabio Fognini in straight sets.

John Millman

The Australian tennis pro has not been in great form this year. He made it to the semifinals of the Delray Beach Open, defeating the likes of Maxime Cressy, Marcos Giron, and Grigor Dimitrov before losing to Reilly Opelka in a closely-fought encounter.

At the Cincinnati Masters, he faced Lorenzo Sonego in the qualifiers. The Italian won the match 7-5, 6-2 to send the 33-year-old packing. In the round of 64 of the Winston-Salem Open, Millman comprehensively defeated Hugo Gaston in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

Interestingly, the only other time these two faced each other was in this very tournament six years ago. Albert Ramos-Vinolas won the first set but Millman bounced back to win the next two to eventually win the match 4-6, 7-5, 6-3. So the head-to-head scoreline stands at 1-0 in favor of Millman.

We feel that Albert Ramos-Vinolas might just level the score this time with a hard-fought win in three sets against Millman.

Prediction: Albert Ramos-Vinolas to win in three sets.
