WTA Angers Arena Loire Open 2022: Alison Van Uytvanck vs Magali Kempen – Preview, Head-to-Head, and Prediction

Third seed Alison Van Uytvanck will square off against fellow Belgian Magali Kempen in the round of 16 of the WTA Angers Arena Loire Open on Wednesday.

The experienced Alison Van Uytvanck made it to the quarterfinals at the Libema Open. Her campaign ended following a loss to top seed Aryna Sabalenka. The 28-year-old has won a couple of titles this season. The first of the two titles came in an ITF event in Great Britain when she defeated Arina Rodionova in the final. She won her second title at the WTA 125 event in Gaiba, Italy with a win against Sara Errani in the final.

Van Uytvanck most recently played in the WTA Andorra Open and progressed to the quarterfinals. Her run was eventually ended by Cristina Bucsa in an intriguing match.

Magali Kempen

The 25-year-old has mostly played on the ITF circuit. She has fared quite well and won a title in France in March. She has also finished runner-up in a couple of tournaments in the Netherlands and France. Prior to Angers, Kempen was seen in action at the ITF 25 event in Petange. She lost to Daria Snigur in the semis.

Kempen played a couple of qualifiers to get through to the main draw at Angers. She won both matches comfortably. In the first match, she defeated Georgina Garcia Perez 6-4, 6-3. Kempen followed it up with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Jenny Lin to punch her ticket to the main draw.
