Local favourite Diane Parry will take on fourth seed Linda Noskova in the quarter-final of the WTA 125K Paris tournament
Diane Parry is a regular on the ITF circuit and has played only a handful number of WTA events in her brief career till date. The French youngster is playing on home turf and has been pretty impressive at this WTA 125K event. The 20-year-old began her campaign with a commendable victory against compatriot Selena J before registering a comprehensive 6-2, 6-3 win against China’s Yuan.
Parry is young, athletic and certainly poses a real threat to her opponents. It will be interesting to see if she can pull off an upset against the much-fancied 4th seed Linda Noskova.
Linda Noskova’s form coming into the match at WTA Paris 2023
Linda Noskova has come to Paris at the back of a second-round exit from the Italian Open. The teenager is new to the WTA senior level but has already shown that she belongs to this level. Her best performance so far this year came at the Lyon Open in February, where she became the only qualifier to reach the quarter-finals stage. Noskova is young and athletic and is certainly making big strides in the WTA circuit.
The fourth seed has been in fine touch in Paris. She registered a hard-fought win against Elsa Jacquemot in her opening match and followed it up with an impressive 7-5, 6-2 victory against Katherine Sebov in the next round. She will certainly fancy her chances in the tournament but there is certainly no room for complacency especially against a tricky opponent like Diane Parry.

Head to head and Predictions
Parry and Noskova have never played each other before on the WTA tour. This is the first professional head to head clash between the two players. On paper, Noskova is the favourite both in terms of form and rankings. However, one can certainly not rule out the promising Parry and she is expected to put up a tough fight. We are predicting a close match with Noskova eventually winning in three sets.
