WWE 2021 draft day on the results: Who was the top pick?
The 2021 WWE Draft got underway last night on SmackDown Live. This is the 16th WWE Draft produced by WWE between their Red (Raw) and Blue (SmackDown) brands.
The drafts will take place from October 1 on SmackDown in Baltimore, Maryland, and October 4 on Raw, in Nashville, Tennesse.
It will be a two-night event and will comprise at least four rounds each on respective nights of SmackDown and Raw. A lot of superstars will be in line for the shifting of brands. In addition, WWE recently mentioned the inclusion of NXT stars in this 2021 draft, which makes things more exciting.
Many big names like Roman Reigns, Big E, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, etc., got drafted in Round 1 of the 2021 WWE Draft.
There were four rounds of draft picks on night 1 of the draft, which took place on SmackDown. WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville did the proceedings for the currents.
The first overall pick was none other than the Universal Champion Roman Reigns with his manager Paul Heyman who was picked for SmackDown. The second name for round 1 was WWE Champion Big E, who got drafted to Raw from SmackDown.
The third pick of the night was Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, who was drafted to SmackDown from Raw, and Bianca Belair, who was prepared to Raw from SmackDown as the 4th pick of the night.
Round 2 started with Drew McIntyre being drafted to SmackDown from Raw as the fifth pick of the night. Next, Raw Tag Team Champions Randy Orton and Riddle were picked for Raw. Next, however, The New Day got drafted to SmackDown. Round 2 ended with WWE Hall of Famer Edge being drafted to RAW from SmackDown.
There was some NXT action on Round 3 as the Intergender stable Hit Row comprising NXT North American Champion Scott, Ashante, Top Dolla, and B-fab were drafted to the main roster on SmackDown. Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss stayed on SmackDown after the draft.
The 10th pick of the night was Nikki A.S.H and Rhea Ripley staying at Raw after the draft. Keth Lee also stayed at Raw. Round 4 started with former SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi being picked for SmackDown and The Mysterios (Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio) drafted to Raw from SmackDown.
The last two names that got picked at the WWE Draft 2021 Night 1 were Jeff Hardy, who got drafted to SmackDown, and NXT star Austin Theory who got selected for Raw. This was his first take at the main roster.
Night 2 of the WWE Draft 2021 will be taking place on Monday Night Raw on October 4, which might consist of more than 4 rounds as it will be a 3-hour show. A lot of big names are still there to come. We will have to wait and see what’s the final day will be like.
