Seven WWE superstars had booked their slots for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match by winning qualifying matches. The popular match which takes place at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view had a last-minute twist to it. Theory came as a surprise entrant and won his first money in the Bank briefcase.
The seven superstars who had qualified for the match over the past few weeks leading up to the PPV had made their entrances. Adam Pearce came out to the stage area and added a superstar to the match. It was none other than Vince McMahon’s protege, Theory. The 24-year-old had just lost his United States Championship to Bobby Lashley earlier on in the show. Theory ended up winning the Money in the Bank ladder match and WWE’s decision to have him win the coveted contract received a lot of flak from the WWE Universe.
Fans were rooting for Riddle and he seemed a perfect choice but WWE decided to push their latest blue-eyed boy. The otherwise excellent PPV was let down by the ending as the arrogant Theory’s stocks in WWE kept on rising.
Now that he has already become Mr. Money in the Bank, we would have to look forward, and that is why we have predicted four possible ways Theory could end up cashing in the contract.
Liv Morgan won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on the show and cashed it in on that night itself to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Theory had no chance to emulate the same as the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was not on the show.
We know that the Theory will have an entire year to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. Theory is being booked as an annoying heel who has the backing of the former Chairman of WWE. He has already irked the fans by winning the Money in the Bank ladder match. We might see him carry the briefcase for close to a year before finally cashing it in. He might brag about being Mr. Money in the Bank and demean his opponents.
He could also come out to the ring and tease the fans on multiple occasions regarding a potential cash-in but back out at the last moment. This will help him receive more heat from the fans. After all, that is the primary goal of the heels – Garner as much heat as you can from the fans. He could finally cash in right before the completion of a year.
WrestleMania 38 wasn’t one to remember for Theory. He faced Pat McAfee at WrestleMania 38 and ended up being humbled by the SmackDown announcer. That too in front of his idol Vince McMahon. The 76-year-old ended up challenging McAfee to a match right after Theory’s loss. Obviously, McMahon did not take any bumps and had Theory do the dirty work. McMahon won the match but what happened later was quite memorable.
Stone Cold Steve Austin came out to the ring. He delivered a Stunner to Theory and the youngster sold it quite well. Austin followed that up with another Stunner of McMahon. He celebrated with some beer and didn’t forget to hit a Stunner on McAfee as well.
A cash-in at WrestleMania 39 could be a nice redemption for Theory. There are reports of Roman Reigns facing The Rock at WrestleMania 39. A cash-in after their match (if that match is for the title) could be a huge boost for Theory’s career.
There could be a possibility that Theory’s dream to cash in his contract to become a world champion ends up in smoke. That could be a huge anti-climax that fans would love to see. It might be highly unlikely but it would be a great way to balance Theory’s career graph as it has been going northwards without any pause.
Imagine the reaction that a vociferous crowd would give when the self-centered and egoistic youngster fails to win the title against a superstar who has just won a grueling match. Theory has seen only the ups as far as his career in WWE is concerned. WWE Universe would not mind if he sees the downside as well. How Theory reacts to that will also be a story in itself.
We have seen the likes of John Cena, Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin and others unsuccessfully cash in the Money in the Bank contract. Maybe Theory could be the next one joining that list.
SummerSlam is considered the second biggest WWE PPV after the flagship WrestleMania event. It is a great place to have stars become superstars.
SummerSlam 2021 was hailed by many as the best WWE PPV event of the year. Legends like John Cena and Brock Lesnar featured on the show.
SummerSlam 2022 is less than a month away. It will take place on 30 July at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, United States.
WWE might not want to keep the fans waiting for too long and have Theory cash-in the contract at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
We will get more hints regarding the direction WWE has planned for the promising young athlete. There are also a few rumors doing the rounds of Theory possibly facing John Cena at SummerSlam 2022. Theory has been compared to the Leader of Cenation on a number of occasions. A win against the 16-time world champion and a successful cash-in to become a world champion could be a surreal achievement at such a grand stage.
