5. Kacy Catanzaro is now Katana Chance

Kacy Catanzaro made her WWE debut back in 2018 and had been wrestling under her original name ever since. However, last week she was introduced as Katana Chance. The 32-year-old explained the name change during a backstage interview saying that there are many facets of Kacy Catanzaro that everyone doesn’t know and that is what Katana Chance is all about.

Chance said that the new name and character will bring more energy to NXT from hereon. She teamed with Kayden Carter this week on NXT and defeated the team of Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz. Carter and Chance will now be looking to get their hands on the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.

4. Chance works at an Obstacle Course Gym in San Antonio

Since 2013, Chance has worked at an obstacle course gym in San Antonio, Texas, called Alpha Warrior where she is a managing partner alongside Brent Steffensen.

According to its website, the gym offers training and obstacle fitness to civilians as well as military personnel around the world. Chance is someone who is really high on fitness and has tried her best to make people around her understand the importance of having a healthy lifestyle.

3. Chance was a Division 1 college gymnast

She started gymnastics at the age of 5 and it certainly shows when she is in the ring. At Towson University in Maryland, Chance was a Division I gymnast.

In the 2008 New Jersey Level 10 State Championships, she stood third and advanced to the 2008 Junior Olympic National Championships where she finished 23rd overall but finished 6th on the balance beam.

In 2012, her senior year, she was named the NCAA’s Southeast Regional Gymnast of the Year. The same year, she was also named the 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Year.

2. Chance was involved in a relationship with Ricochet

Katana Chance and Ricochet joined WWE officially in 2018. The two high-flying superstars fell in love soon and dated each other for a few years before breaking up in 2021.

The current Intercontinental champion Ricochet is currently in a relationship with WWE Ring Announcer & Correspondent Samantha Irvin.

1. She is the first woman to qualify for the finals of ‘American Ninja Warrior’

Kacy Catanzaro became a household name on American Ninja Warrior and her achievements on the show paved the way for many female competitors to showcase their talent. In her second year competing, she became the first woman to scale the Warped Wall, the first woman to hit a buzzer on a qualifying run, and the first to hit a buzzer on a city finals run.

Being 5’0” and reaching such enormous heights on the show and defeating all obstacles made her a fan-favorite ninja and inspired the hashtag #MightyKacy. She announced her retirement from American Ninja Warrior in 2017 during season nine.
