WWE are hopeful of finally confirming the dream match between Roman Reigns and The Rock.

However, the match will have to wait despite both parties being very keen on it going through.

Reigns is dominating the blue brand ever week since winning the WWE Universal Championship

Dave Meltzer, on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio explained that WWE are finding it difficult to arrange this match but are hopeful to do it in the coming Wrestlemania events.

“Obviously The Rock & Roman Reigns is something that they’re building towards and it would be — every year gets tougher and tougher because Dwayne gets a year older and, you know, but I think he really wants to do a match against Roman Reign,” Meltzer explained. “I think for sure it’ll be in next two WrestleManias, and if he can pull it off, the next WrestleMania.”

The Rock retired from professional wrestling in 2019. But, he has repeatedly mentioned a dream match with his cousin. Reigns, also agrees saying it “makes sense” and is willing to make it a Championship match.

Roman Reigns is the hottest property in WWE, with his heel run with Paul Heyman. He defeated Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 37. Reigns has taken over the baton after Dean Ambrose’s departure and Seth Rollins underperforming over the last year.
