WWE’s latest pay-per-view Hell in a Cell took place on Sunday and we saw some stunning matches. The 36-year-old Cody Rhodes wrestled Seth Rollins inside a Hell in a Cell in the main event of the fifth pay-per-view event of 2022.

Cody Rhodes was set to face Seth Rollins on the Live event last Saturday but the American Nightmare did not compete as he was reportedly injured. Drew McIntyre replaced him in the match but Rhodes still appeared after the match, chasing the Visionary.

On the day of the Hell in a Cell, it was reported that Cody Rhodes had suffered a legitimate injury while lifting weights. WWE confirmed he had a torn pectoral tendon after the unfortunate incident but he would go on with the Hell in a Cell match as per schedule.

Rhodes tweeted: “For the love of the game,” just prior to the main event.

Wrestling News reported that Rhodes was cleared by WWE to wrestle as he could do no further damage to his fully torn pec. They also mentioned that a few high-risk spots were removed from the match.

Cody had the option to choose not to wrestle but the reports stated that he insisted on competing. In the end, the match turned out to be a classic.

The match lasted close to 25 minutes and to wrestle for that long with a torn pec seriously deserves huge respect. Rhodes has now beaten Seth Rollins in three consecutive pay-per-view matches. Now, he will take time to completely heal his injury and we wish him a speedy recovery.
