After a confrontation between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns on this week’s episode of SmackDown, WWE has changed a championship match that was supposed to take place at WrestleMania Backlash.

Adam Pearce was in the ring for the Tag Team Championship Unification match contract signing on the latest episode of WWE’s blue brand. RK-Bro made their entrance first and The Usos followed. They bragged about being the No. 1 and also said they will win all the gold at WrestleMania Backlash.

Riddle interrupted saying he can’t tell the two brothers apart. Randy Orton said he hasn’t had any problem ever in telling them apart. He went on to call Jey the right-hand man and Jimmy a little “b*tch”.

A brawl began between the two tag teams and RK-Bro had the upper hand. However, the equation changed when the Tribal Chief made his way to the ring. The Bloodline assaulted RK-Bro and Reigns tore the contract paper and shoved it in Riddle’s mouth.

Drew McIntyre’s music hit and the Scottish Warrior gingerly made his way towards the ring. Reigns looked perplexed and ordered The Usos to take the former WWE champion out. However, Drew took them out without breaking a sweat and entered the ring to get in Roman’s face. The Head of the Table punched Drew and a slugfest began. Drew dropped Reigns as the champion retreated.

Later it was announced by WWE that the Tag Team Championship Unification match has been changed into a six-man tag team match.

How did the new match come about?

After the segment mentioned previously, Paul Heyman confronted Adam Pearce and wanted a tweak to the Tag Team Championship Unification match.

Heyman told Pearce that Reigns wasn’t happy with what had just transpired. He demanded the match scheduled for WrestleMania Backlash to be changed into a six-man tag team match with The Bloodline taking on Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro.

Pearce was reluctant but Heyman threatened to complain to the Board of Directors if he didn’t obey his instructions and deprived the WWE Universe to witness Reigns in action.

Eventually, Heyman had his way and the match he desired was made official.
