Nia Jax suffered an embarrassing slip on this week’s episode of WWE RAW
When a three-women tag team match was announced between Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, and Rhea Ripley & Lana, Naomi, and Asuka, WWE fans expected a mixing pot of high-flying moves, power striking, and some great in-ring chemistry.
They got all off that… well, for the most part. Jax was made to suffer a slip added either for making Mandy Rose feel better about herself or to add comedic effect.
Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke came out to distract Jax, as they have for the past few weeks, and they carried a bucket of water with them.
They threw it at Baszler, and the running Nia Jax then slipped on the resulting spillage. This is the second time she has been made to do something like this in the past week.
2 weeks back, Jax was made to trip on the apron as Rose and Brooke watched on and laughed.
Fans incensed with WWE for Nia Jax slip
Both these instances come after Rose herself suffered a slip at WrestleMania when she was making her way onto the ramp. The difference was that this was a botch.
However, WWE has apparently tried to make it a theme now, refusing to let go of that one moment, almost trying to overcompensate for it either to save their own face, or Rose’s.
And Jax seems to be the one bearing the brunt for it. Referring to the slip this week, Jax tweeted, almost like a bully in a kid’s movie that has been driven to the point of regret over their actions, that she now learnt her lesson.
“Now I know what it means when they say “slippery when wet” and I realized not to run when there is water on the floor”
Fans were left fuming at WWE for this, and rightly so. No fan would every say no to good, original, and classy humour.
But instances like these really reduce WWE to a very low level. Humour should supplement a storyline positively and be in good spirits, especially keeping the young audience in mind.
And fans took to Twitter to relay their frustration over this creative insertion into the storyline. While it was not just because of this incident, it has been building up for the past few weeks where WWE creative seems to be getting a lot of things wrong on the show in an attempt to make people laugh.
