Did Brock Lesnar quit WWE after Crown Jewel?
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar was involved in one of the biggest fights at Saudi Arabia’s Crown Jewel.
The Beast faced former UFC champion Cain Velasquez and put his WWE title on the line.
Velasquez had beaten Brock during their UFC days and was expected to put up a huge fight against the Beast.
However, Lesnar defeated his rival in a few minutes thanks to the Kimura lock, and there were questions about what his next step would be.
Rey Mysterio was in Velasquez’s side as he protected the former MMA fighter from the Beast’s onslaught.
The WWE champion had also targetted Rey’s son Dominic in the weeks leading up to Crown Jewel, and the American made a huge announcement at SmackDown
What did Brock Lesnar do on SmackDown?
Paul Heyman, Lesnar’s advocate and manager, had some choice words to say about his client.
The former ECW head was his usual self with the mike and dropped the bombshell that Lesnar was quitting SmackDown.
However, Heyman confirmed that Lesnar was leaving the Blue brand for the Red brand, and wants to face Mysterio.
Lesnar does have a history of quitting the WWE as he tried his hand out in the UFC too.
The Beast was fairly successful in the MMA octagon as he won the title but wasn’t as dominant as he is in the WWE.
The WWE seems to favour Brock and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the champion is switching sides to RAW.
The Fiend does hit bit at Crown Jewel
Bray Wyatt, AKA The Fiend, defeated Seth Rollins for the Universal title at Crown Jewel in an incredible match.
The Architect, Rollins, threw everything he had at Wyatt and even sent the Fiend tumbling down to some boxes where he seemed to have been electrocuted.
Rollins also used his finisher, the curb stomp, on Wyatt multiple times outside the ring. However, the Fiend came back to latch the mandible claw on the Architect before hitting Sister Abigail.
The problem with Wyatt lifting the title was that now SmackDown had both the top titles on the same brand.
Raw couldn’t work without having a champion on their side and it is surprising that the WWE went with this route just weeks after their draft.
SmackDown also saw the NXT invasion take place before Survivor Series, but Lesnar won’t have to worry about that for now.
His sights are on Mysterio and it will be interesting to see if this turns into a championship bout soon.
