Los Lotharios are the new WWE Tag Team of Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo
Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo are introduced as The Lotharios . The name could be a tribute to Jose Lothario, the legendary wrestler who trained Shawn Michaels.
Who are these new WWE Tag Team Los Lotharios?
On September 20, The Tag of Angel Garza formed a tag team with his cousin Humberto Carrillo on Raw. Both of them were drafted to the SmackDown brand.
Humberto Garza Solano, aka Angel Garza, is a third-generation wrestler, the grandson of luchador Mario Segura known as El Ninja. He is the nephew of Hector Garza and Humberto Garza Jr. and the grand nephew of Humberto Segura Garza.
He has previously worked for Impact Wrestling in the United States for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and other Mexican Independent promotions, including The Crash Lucha Libre.
Garza signed a contract with WWE and began to work at the performance center. He made his debut on June 26 as a heel on NXT and defeated Joaquin Wilde.
Angel started performing at the WWE 205 live events. He is also a one-time NXT Cruiserweight Champion and made his main roster debut on Raw as a heel only before teaming with Andrade. He is also a WWE 24/7 Champion.
The other member of the stable, Humberto Garza Carrillo, is also a Mexican professional wrestler. Carrillo began his wrestling journey as Ultimo Ninja and performed at Wrestling in Monterrey. Later, he wrestled for several other independent promotions, including Casanova Pro, Lucha Libre Del Norte, The Crash Lucha Libre, RIOT Wrestling Alliance, and won various championship titles.
He signed an official contract with WWE on October 18, 2018, and appeared against Jaxson Raker on NXT. Throughout the whole year, he wrestled for WWE 205 live events and NXT.
His main roster debut came on Raw, where he received a tag team match with former MMA fighter Cain Velasquez. After that, he made his main roster debut against Seth Rollins. Carrillo is a third-generation luchador son of Humberto Garza Jr. and is the cousin of Angel Garza.
He appeared for several bouts throughout the year, including a feud with Seth Rollins, saving Rey Mysterio, competing in major events like Money in the Bank, Andre the Giant battle royal but failed to win any.
Carrillo would finally team with his cousin Angel Garza and, as a part of the 2021 draft, were drafted to the SmackDown brand. They eventually made their appearance as an official tag team name of The Lotharios last night on SmackDown Live.
Strangely, The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Kothari as “a man whose chief interest is seducing women.” Garza and Carrillo were both pushed last year by Paul Heyman when he was the Executive Director of Monday Night Raw, but now they will surely get another push on SmackDown.
In their very first match as Lotharios, they defeated Cesaro and Mansoor on SmackDown. From here on, they would undoubtedly be one of the tag teams to watch out for. The Usos might get tough competition from them.
