Naomi is all set to move to SmackDown from Raw
After almost 9 months in the Red Brand, Naomi is all set to move to SmackDown. The news was first reported by Jeff Whelan of Rajah.com, who claimed that the promotion was planning to move Naomi from Raw to SmackDown.
However, a reason for the same was not revealed. A while later, reports emerged that the switch was due to SmackDown’s Bayley suffering an ACL tear.
Bayley had torn her ACL, while training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, just ahead of her fight against Bianca Belair at Money in the Bank 2021.
Bayley had to undergo surgery, and it was announced that she would be sitting out for at least 9 months.
This caused the weakening of the women’s roster in the Blue Brand. And hence, it was speculated that Naomi was moved to SmackDown to fill that big-name void left by Bayley.
More recently, it looks like there might be more to Naomi’s move to SmackDown.
Naomi moving to SmackDown because of husband Jimmy Uso?
The presence of Naomi’s husband Jimmy Uso might also be another reason for Naomi being moved to SmackDown. The WWE has always done their best to keep couples on the same brand.
The main reason for the same has been – easy travel.
Jimmy, his twin brother Jey, and cousin Roman Reigns are a part of the faction called Bloodline. The Uso are currently the SmackDown tag-team champions in their fifth reign.
The exact date for Naomi’s arrival in the blue brand is not yet known.
