Five possible things which should’ve happened at WWE Day 1

WWE Day 1 turned out to be a mega event to start the new year for the WWE Universe. So many things happened in the PPV that turned out to be great. However, possible something could have happened on Day 1.

5 things that could have happened at WWE Day 1

1. Paul Heyman rejoins WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and cost Brock Lesnar the title

WWE Day 1 started with the news of Universal Champion Roman Reigns getting positive for COVID-19, but if Reigns had been absolutely fit and fine, things could be different for Brock Lesnar.

As we all know, Reigns fired Paul Heyman after the latter said that he is protecting The Tribal Chief from Brock Lesnar. And in fact, in the following week, Heyman teased that his career may be over, but we all know that retirements are never permanent in this showbiz.

Heyman could have joined forces with Reigns again and surprised the Beast. Instead, this cost Lesnar the title as The Bull Dog retains the Universal Championship.

2. Sami Zayn wins the WWE Intercontinental Championship

WWE has nixed the Intercontinental Championship between Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn from the WWE Day 1 PPV event card. It is speculated that it might be related to the recent Covid Outbreak. There is a possibility that one has caught Covid, which forced this cancellation between them.

Sami Zayn won the 12 Days of Christmas Battle Royal to earn a match against Shinsuke for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Day 1. But if the game had not been nixed, we could have got a new champion in terms of Zayn.

3. Kevin Owens wins the WWE title

WWE Day 1 saw Brock Lesnar being included in the Fatal 4 Way match at the last moment to make it a 5-way contest which was apparently won by The Beast when he F-5’s Big E and scored the pin.

Owen, who recently re-signed with WWE in the multi-year deal, if Lesnar was nowhere on the scene, the outcome of this match could have been Kevin Owens becoming the new WWE Champion with WWE may be trying to get a heel as a champion.

Rollins and Owens seem to be having a frenemy-ship going on, and those two could have fussed over the title going forward.

4. Maryse helps The Miz to defeat Edge

Edge faced The Miz and his wife, Maryse, at the WWE Day 1. Many would have predicted that Maryse would interrupt during the match and cost Edge the game, but that was not the case on the match day.

As WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix made her way to the ring, who is the wife of Edge and took care of Maryse and helped The Rated R Superstar defeat The Miz.

If Phoenix hadn’t made her return, The Miz would have picked up the victory over Edge with the help of Maryse, and that would have changed the contest of the whole feud.

5. Liv Morgan win the WWE Raw Women’s Champion

At WWE Day 1, Becky Lynch defended her Women’s Championship, Liv Morgan. The match was really intense as the rivalry was firing between the two.

Morgan put up a perfect fight, but in the end, The Man got the better of her as he picked up the win. But Liv Morgan could have won the match, and she almost got the win with many near falls.

Liv would have put off a major upset and beat Becky at her own game as they would have squared off again to end the trilogy at WrestleMania 38.
