Naomi is currently one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and she won the titles at WrestleMania 38 alongside her tag team partner and close friend Sasha Banks.
Naomi and Sasha Banks will defend their titles this week on RAW against the team of Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.
5. Naomi was inspired to join WWE after watching a live show
Naomi is different from most other wrestlers as she didn’t dream of becoming a WWE superstar from an early age. It was after attending a WWE live show that Naomi understood the career direction she wanted to take.
She, however, took to wrestling like fish to water and her dancing background, which we will discuss in the next part, was an added advantage.
4. Naomi was a backup dancer for Flo Rida
Naomi started taking dance lessons from a young age. She received numerous medals in state and national level competitions. At the young age of 18, Naomi signed for the NBA Orlando Magic basketball team.
Naomi later joined the team of backup dancers for Flo Rida. Naomi’s wrestling career on the main roster started with her showing off her dance skills as part of The Funkadactyls alongside Cameron and they accompanied Brodus Clay to the ring for his matches.
3. Naomi was the inaugural FCW Divas Champion
Before NXT happened, there was Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) where talented trainee wrestlers were given a platform to hone their skills.
The 34-year-old won an 8-woman tournament that featured the likes of AJ Lee, Tamina, and Aksana to become the first-ever FCW Divas Champion. She then went on to carry the title for six months before AJ Lee won it from her.
2. Naomi featured in a single
She made her first single in 2014. She wrote the song and produced the music video as well. The song goes by the name “Dance All Night” and is directed by Evan Zissimopulos.
The video was released on WWE’s official Youtube channel. As of 2022, the video has witnessed 4.3 million views and is liked by more than 70K people.
1. Naomi is married to Jonathan Fatu, better known as Jimmy Uso
The two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi married her longtime boyfriend Fatu on January 16, 2014, in Maui. The former champion and Jimmy reside in Pensacola, Florida, and she is the stepmother to Fatu’s two children from a previous relationship.
The couple started dating back in 2013 and for a brief period, she even managed The Usos in WWE. They made their relationship public on WWE TV in 2014.
