Former WWE star Matt Hardy opens up on Adam Cole to AEW rumors

Matt Hardy comments on Adam Cole becoming a free agent after his last goodbye with WWE NXT on Wednesday.

Hardy shared a picture of him with Cole from 2014 when they were both a part of the ROH roster. He wrote:

“#TBT 2014 Lots of buzz on @AdamColePro right now. I’m not surprised at all, he’s one of the elite in this industry. Let’s not forget – The #KingMaker Big Money Matt was his original mentor in ROH, of course he’s gonna be a rock star.”

Cole was mocked by various AEW stars, namely Elite, for joining AEW. The latest example is Kenny Omega posting a photo of himself wearing a Ghostbusters costume on Instagram.

The Amazon Live show that aired yesterday with Cole and Johnny Gargano promoted some new WWE characters, including scenes from WarGames, but this is believed to have been pre-recorded some time ago. It is worth noting that although Cole participated in all four WarGames matches, WWE did not sell the Cole doll with the WarGames suit, in fact, the person who accompanied the suit was Keith Lee, who had only participated in one.

PWInsider reported that WWE believes Cole has broken up with the company, but Fightful reported that WWE plans to offer him another contract.

Will Cole join AEW?

Adam Cole has undoubtedly been one of the standouts of WWE NXT history. In a short span of time, he has shown his prowess and has won everything on offer in the duration. Despite him being pipped to reach the main roster, he really failed to deliver on the big stage and stayed a main figure on NXT.

Cole will be missed by the WWE Universe

With AEW in mind, it would be a perfect destination for Cole who has been regarded as a huge potential since his younger days. It could be the platform for him to make it big in his career, and rise to the elite level of wrestling.
