Was Adam Cole offered to manage Keith Lee?
We reported earlier that WWE had offered a managerial role to Adam Cole before his departure and this idea was initiated by Vince McMahon himself.
It was said the McMahon saw potential in him to exercise Cole’s persona in something else than wrestling. But in a recent interview with TV Insider Cole said:
“I personally have never heard anything regarding that. I touched base a little bit on how my meeting with Vince McMahon went really well. We talked for about 30 minutes. He had a lot of complimentary things to say. As far as hearing that specific thing, that was not something I heard about. My four years with NXT was fantastic. My four years with WWE was awesome, but at the end of the day, I wanted to end up with AEW. Now that I’m here, I’m stoked.”
Cole went ahead and discarded all the rumors of him being offered a managerial role. It was being circulated as the reason to why Cole decided to leave WWE. But now the rumors have been put to bed by the man himself and everyone can stop speculating now.
Why did Adam Cole leave WWE then?
As reported earlier Cole’s contract expired in August and he decided to not continue with WWE. Now that the managerial role rumor is out of the window the only thing that makes sense is that he wanted a new adventure.
Cole’s long time friends and wrestling partners Kenny Omega and YoungBucks are with AEW and also his girlfriend Britt Baker. These are also the probable reasons to why Cole left WWE but there has been nothing rock solid as of yet.
