Adam Cole claims WWE wanted to change his name on the main roster
Adam Cole‘s WWE saga does not seem to be ending anytime soon. After denying the reports of being asked to become manager to Keith Lee, Cole has recently revealed what the actual plans were.
Cole was the recent guest on Chris Jericho’s Talk is Jericho where he opened up about his situation with the WWE. Cole said:
“Apparently, there were a lot of ideas, but they were very vague on what exactly they wanted to do. When I first had the conversation, they had mentioned something about doing a name change or changing my look. That scared me a little bit because I spent nearly 14 years as Adam Cole. Our latest conversation, they were definitely more open to being me and being myself. They could tell I was not too thrilled”
So now the record has been set straight by the man himself. WWE did want to change his whole persona and the character by giving him a different look or name. Cole also revealed that later the conversations were all about him being himself as it was evident Cole did not want to change his name.
Rightfully so, as Cole mentioned himself he had put in a lot of hard work to make a name of himself as Adam Cole.
There was a lot of speculation going around to figure out why did Cole leave WWE. One of the reasons that emerged were that WWE asked him to become the manager of Keith Lee.
Cole later denied these rumors and now has come out with the actual plans of the WWE as mentioned earlier. For a detailed coverage on this check out: Adam Cole rejects rumours of him managing Keith Lee in WWE
