Roman Reigns and Adam Pearce met face-to-face this week on WWE SmackDown
This week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown saw two recently-made arch-enemies go up against each other in the ring.
There wasn’t any physical confrontation between Adam Pearce and Roman Reigns, but the war of words was enough to raise the temperature inside the arena.
Pearce waited for ‘The Tribal Chief’ to enter into the ring as he planned to make an announcement. The WWE producer said that Reigns would defend his belt in an Elimination Chamber match later this month.
Paul Heyman intervened to inform Pearce that the contract warrants Reigns to defend his belt at the Elimination Chamber, not in an Elimination Chamber.
It was then announced that Reigns would defend his WWE Universal championship against whoever won in the Chamber.
And Pearce had a hilarious reaction to a shot of them standing very close to each other inside the ring. Posting a photo of it on his Twitter, he stated he felt ‘The Big Dog’ really ‘likes him’.
The 6-man line-up was later confirmed on the show. Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, and King Corbin would all be inside the Chamber to become the #1 contender.
The PPV is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 21st February this year. As for Pearce and Reigns, they do share a bit of a history on the Blue brand.
Just recently, Pearce was forced into a title match against Reigns for his belt. He sincerely contributed to the build-up for the fight despite having a plan all along.
He tricked the champion into signing a contract which allowed Pearce to replace himself with Kevin Owens for the title fight at Royal Rumble.
It now seems like the two are still going to rivals on the show and a fight between the two could never be ruled out.
