One of the top AEW Stars MJF wished former WWE US Champion R-Truth on his birthday

WWE Superstar R-Truth yesterday turned big 50. As he celebrated his birthday, many WWE and wrestlers from the community have honoured the veteran.

AEW Superstar MJF took to Twitter and wished R-Truth on his birthday.

“Happy Birthday, R TRUTH!”

R-Truth has been around for a long time now in WWE, having made his debut way back in 2000. He is a record-holding 53-time WWE 24/7 Champion.

Even though it looks like R-Truth is a young bloke with all his physique, the truth is that he has been around for a long time.

A nearly twenty-five-year wrestling veteran who has also held a rap career outside of the ring, R-Truth debuted in 1997 under Ron Killings for the Pro Wrestling Federation. He worked in the independent circuit for two years before signing a developmental deal with WWE in 1999 and began wrestling under K-Kwik.

R-Truth kept the 24/7 title after this week’s Raw (WWE)

As K-Kwik, he was called up to the main roster in 2000 and teamed with Road Dogg before the latter’s release in early 2001. However, he found very little success in the hardcore division, resulting in his release in early 2002.

He then went to TNA, where he immediately defeated Ken Shamrock on August 7, 2002, to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. To date, he remains the only African American in history to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title and the first-ever black champion in TNA history.

Returning to WWE under his famous ring-name R-Truth has been great. He won the United States Title twice and the WWE Tag Team Championship once with Kofi Kingston.
