Former WWE Star AJ Lee return to wrestling after a long time by joining WOW

AJ Lee has finally returned to the wrestling world after a long hiatus as a commentator for WOW: Women of Wrestling. Lee is a former WWE Divas Champion.

WOW, the roster is being led by World Champion The Beast and Tessa Blanchard. In addition, ViacomCBS Global Distribution announced a new multi-year deal with WOW. This independent promotion is owned by Los Angeles Laker owner Jeanie Buss and created by David McLane.

AJ will be a cooler commentator on each broadcast episode and not only that, she will also serve as an Executive Producer along with Buss. 

This is what WOW has to say (h/t Wrestling Inc.) about this new partnership and distribution. They believe that partnering with Buss and Mclane will create a global footprint for WOW. Fans will get to experience some unique and creative entertainment of female superheroes in the ring. They believe that it is going to make noise in the market.

Why did AJ Lee retire from wrestling?

Former WWE Superstar Lee was retired from active wrestling in 2015 due to several injuries that she suffered during her career. That concluded in her leaving WWE, she has permanent damage to her cervical spine.
