Newly-released Aleister Black addressed reports of his wife Zelina Vega returning to the WWE
The 2nd of June saw 6 names being released from the WWE. Among the six was Aleister Black, who had recently returned to the promotion after being absent for more than 6 months.
His wife, Zelina Vega who is a professional wrestler as well, was released by the WWE in November 2020, following a controversial tweet about wrestlers unionizing with the organization.
And now that her husband has been released, chances of her returning to the promotion look slim.
Elsewhere, Fightful reported a couple of weeks before, that Vega might be returning to the WWE, since a footage of her alongside Simone Johnson (The Rock’s daughter), at the WWE Performance Center emerged.
Black recently addressed the reports on Vega’s Twitch account taking shots at the ones who reported the same.
He said:
“There is the thing of ‘validating your stories’ as opposed to blatantly putting out stuff that harms people. Take in the fact that a couple of weeks ago, with my wife, that harmed her so much. Nothing but hate comments. All because someone was like, ‘sign up to my Patreon, I have news.’ There was literally no news. There was nothing.”
Black was bombarded with tweets of support following his release. Black for his part thanked a few notable members who had a special place in his heart. One among them was Paul Heyman.
Black thanked Heyman for always being by his side and acting like a mentor.
He wrote:
“Before I forget, a special mention goes to @HeymanHustle for always having my back, and to this day acts like a mentor to me. Since day one Paul was in my corner.”
As for Black, he is now rumoured to make a move to the AEW, just like any other ‘popular and released’ WWE Superstar.
He even teased a matchup with Jon Moxley when a fan mentioned that he must make a move to Tony Khan’s promotion.
