WWE superstar Aleister Black posts emotional message remembering his grandfather
5 May 2020 saw the Netherlands celebrate their 75th Liberation Day. For the Dutch, this day signifies the end of World War II as the Nazi occupational forces surrendered.
And, on this occasion, WWE superstar Aleister Black posted an emotional message recalling the memory of his grandfather telling war stories.
Taking to Instagram, Black posted an image of the National monument in Amsterdam, along with a message written in Dutch
Part of the message translated to:
This day often goes out to my grandfather, who could not leave the war behind until the last day of his life.
I often think about the moments where I and @wrestlingdante sat at the table and listened to my grandfather’s stories about everything he had experienced during and after the war, something I keep sharing with others as they are stories that are forever remain important for the Netherlands and perhaps the world.
Aleister Black has been enjoying a solid push on WWE Raw of late. The Dutch wrestler will compete in the 2020 Money In the Bank this weekend and is one of the favourites to win the MITB contract.
He is one of the top stars on WWE now, but he hasn’t forgotten the sacrifices made in the past.
