Braun Strowman, Aleister Black were some of the big names who were a part of the recent WWE release

The recent roster cut from the WWE has had the entire pro-wrestling community rocked. The WWE later yesterday night, confirmed the releases of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Murphy, Ruby Riott and Santana Garrett after news spread like wildfire that they have been released.

It was shocking and hard to digest, especially the releases of Strowman and Black, because only a few weeks ago Strowman challenged for the WWE title at WrestleMania Backlash.

And, Black made a return only in April after almost 6 months. He was even given a new mysterious look, and was expected to get a significant push from the promotion.

RAW Superstar Alexa Bliss took to Twitter to share her grief. She posted a heartbreak emoji followed by just one word – “terrible.”

Bliss and Stowman have featured in several episodes together. They even had a storyline running in the year 2018.

Black’s release surely came as a shock to many. In fact, Black himself couldn’t come to terms with his release. He had only returned from a long layoff, in April.

Aleister Black as the Dark Father

He wrote that he was taken by surprise by the announcement since he was just getting started with his ‘Dark Father’ character. However, he thanked the WWE for the opportunity.

Here is what Black had to say following his release:

“Im gathering my thoughts as this was a complete left field for me as obviously we just started the dark father character but this was it, thank you so much WWE universe for allowing me to create and give you small bits of myself.”
