Former NXT superstar Alexander Wolfe was not happy with his WWE release for one reason

Former NXT talent Alexander Wolfe was one of the many names released by WWE last week. The clear-out was the second such WWE exodus after WrestleMania 37.

Out of all the superstars released, Wolfe’s expulsion was perhaps the most surprising. On the Tuesday night episode of NXT before the announcement, Wolfe was removed from his stable, Imperium.

And talking to Gary Cassidy on Inside The Ropes, Wolfe stated that exiting the show this way made more sense than being ousted from the brand without any explanation.

However, according to Wolfe, the one thing that stung him about his sudden release was the fact that his pride as a pro wrestler was hurt.

“It’s more like the pride of me as a professional wrestler that I know I’m very good at what I’m doing. I’m probably not the biggest, the strongest. I’m not in the best shape I could be. I understand that. And that’s also the first thing I do. I just touch my own nose and ask myself what I have to do better to keep the job and not blaming others because that’s weak. I feel like I could do everything what they want from me. I did everything what they want for me in six years, I could be a clown, I could be serious. I can do almost everything in the ring. And I’m very grateful for the six years because I learned a lot.”

However, Wolfe added that he was ‘pi**ed’ about the fact that the company still employed rookies while letting go of talent like him.

“But on the other hand, it’s kind of, you guys hire people that are not able to take a single bump. They are not able to run the ropes. You have to teach them everything and they get hired by WWE and you fire me? So that was the point where I even told the guy who gave me the bad message, that’s the only thing that really pissed me off. But in the end, it is what it is.”

It is what it is, indeed. There are a lot of instances of WWE releasing talented superstars while keeping deadwood on board.

Wolfe saw great success as a part of SAnitY along with Nikki Cross, Killian Dain, and Eric Young. He then joined Walter, Fabian Aichner, and Marcel Barthel to complete Imperium.

When he was booted out of the stable on 18th May because of his dubious loyalty, fans expected him to find himself in a new alliance with Dain. But sadly, that was not to be.

It remains unclear what Wolfe wants to do next but a return to pro wrestling should not be out of the question. He did reveal that he turned down a few small-time promotions to fly back to Germany, but it remains to be seen what he chooses to do next.
