Tamina and Natalya finally won the WWE Women’s tag titles for the first time ahead of WrestleMania Backlash and Lana was quick to react
History was made on this week’s WWE SmackDown as Tamina and Natalya finally won the Women’s tag titles.
The pair had been working together for a while and almost got the gold at WrestleMania 37. However, fate wasn’t with them and it was an emotional loss for the pair.
The team still worked hard to get another shot at Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, and they finally captured the titles for the first time.
This was Tamina’s first WWE title, if you don’t count the 24/7 title. Natalya is a former Divas and SmackDown Women’s Champion but the Canadian was extremely emotional after they got the belt.
This was a bit of a surprise since WrestleMania Backlash is one Monday. However, there was a lot of praise for the newly crowned champions.
Lana, who used to be Natalya’s partner, until fairly recently was one who shared her thoughts. The Ravishing Russian is also keen on winning the titles with her new partner, Naomi, but she gave props to her former partner and Tamina:
Natalya and Tamina should have won the titles at WrestleMania 37 but this does add a nice twist for the coming weeks.
Will the titles be up for grabs at WrestleMania Backlash?
Lana could have also won the title had things gone better for her, however, it was a surprise that the titles changed hands ahead of WrestleMania Backlash.
The PPV is just a few days away and these titles could be put on the line. Jax and Baszler should get the rematch soon and it will be interesting to see when that is.
Natalya and Tamina certainly deserved to win the gold, and they proved that hard work does pay off in WWE.
