Andrade hopes to face WWE star Aleister Black in the coming years after announcing WWE release
As all wrestling fans would be aware of by now, WWE released Andrade from his contract earlier this week. It was not a sacking, per se.
The Mexican wrestler requested a release from the promotion before that, but he was denied it then. But a few weeks later, WWE announced that they had come to terms with letting the 31-year-old go.
Following that, several WWE stars wished him farewell. Among them was Dutch WWE star, Aleister Black.
Black, whose real name is Tom Budgen, tweeted how grateful he was to have Andrade with him on his WWE journey and what special place he holds in his heart.
Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas, as he was known then, was Black’s first opponent when he debuted on WWE NXT TakeOver on April 1, 2016.
And not just that, but Black beat Andrade to win the NXT Championship, so there is bound to be a great bond between there as both shared the journey from NXT to the main roster.
Andrade replied to Black’s heartfelt tweet by mentioning that he would like to face Aleister again in the future. That confirms that Andrade is not looking to retire completely, which, in all honesty, was never really in doubt.
But also, it also does not rule a return to WWE for the Mexican. His future is now up in the air, with no one really having any answer to what he may choose next.
Japan is always an option, but AEW seems like the most lucrative alternative to WWE at the moment, with Big Show and Christian recently jumping ships.
The future of Black isn’t all that certain either. He hasn’t been seen on TV since Zelina Vega, his wife was released by WWE.
Andrade and Vega were a team in WWE and it will be interesting to see where they end up.
