Andrade slams WWE over plans to focus on Mexican stars

Andrade was recently released by WWE and he not holding back on his former company

Nick Khan, WWE’s President, was speaking on the Colin Cowherd podcast and opened up on plans for the company to expand into other regions.

Khan highlighted Mexico as being a possible avenue for WWE, especially about the Lucha Libre aspect.

While Khan didn’t share too many details of exactly what WWE were thinking of doing, but he did bring up WWE starting a company and not buying one out.

WWE have done a lot to branch out to different countries in recent years. Saudi Arabia has seen a lot of specials and PPVs.

India has become another country where WWE has done a few shows, especially the one about Republic Day.

WWE NXT UK is another success for the company with many stars from the UK promotion starring now in the US.

However, former WWE star Andrade wasn’t too happy with the discussion taking place. Andrade, as we all know, was frustrated over his lack of match time. He was barely seen after the 2020 draft and threw a bit of a fit before finally getting his release.

Andrade still seems bitter about his exit

While Andrade is now a free man and away from the chains of WWE, he still seems to be bitter about the way he was treated.

Many have suggested that Andrade should have stayed in WWE and worked around this problem of a lack of TV time.

However, he just wasn’t being used and frankly, he needed to wrestle regularly given he is in his prime and he is possibly one of the best wrestlers in the world.

A proper Mexican WWE should could work, but only if it has a flavour of Mexico. WWE don’t need to tone down content or interfere too much in that Lucha Libre style of wrestling.

Rey Mysterio is someone who would connect WWE and Mexico now, and it will be interesting to see what plans the promotion has for the country.
