Greg Hamilton has been recently released by the WWE
WWE announcer Greg Hamilton Huston is the latest to have been released by the company. It has been confirmed by PWInsider, that the WWE announcer was released earlier this week. Huston was with the company since 2015 and worked for the NXT brand and the Tough Enough at first.
A year later, he was brought to the main roster where he ring announced where he did ring announcement for WWE Superstars and WWE Main Event. Hutson was later brought to SmackDown and became a regular ring announcer for the blue brand. Prior to signing with the WWE he was working as the host for Orlando Magic (NBA team) and various other on CBS, FOX and NBC networks.
WWE have not given any reason of yet as to why they have decided to nix off the ring announcer. However, it was reported that WWE are still looking to continue their budget cuts into the end of the year. The news was first brought up when Hutson removed WWE from his Twitter account and later went on to make his account private.
Greg Hamilton Huston’s lawsuit against Westside Gunn
Just days prior to his release, it was revealed that Huston was moving ahead with a lawsuit on a rapper named Westside Gunn. Hutson raised the issue of Gunn using his voice’s sample in one of his songs.
The former WWE announcer brought this to public eye on his Instagram and made it known that WWE’s lawyers will be suing the rapper on his behalf. Further revelations on this story are yet to be awaited.
