WWE star confirms she did motion capture for multiple Virtua Fighter 5 characters

Japanese star Asuka hasn’t just worked on the motion capture of Virtua Fighter 5 and has done a lot more

Virtua Fighter 5 got a fresh coat of paint and was released as part of the PS+ games for June 2021.

The remastered version is being called Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown and is free to download for all PS+ users for a couple of months, at least.

Virtua Fighter was one of the top fighting games and was developed by Sega. This edition is a remaster from the 2013 version and has been met mostly by positive reviews.

The likes of Tekken and Dead or Alive might have taken over the competitive fighting scene but VF5 could bring the good old days back.

However, there is a link with wrestling in all this. A user commented that Asuka, a former WWE Champion, had done motion capture for Vanessa, a character in the game.

Asuka confirmed that she had done the motion capture not only for her but a lot of the VF5 characters.

Asuka also later confirmed that she had done some voice work for another Japanese game.

The Japanese star had worked on a lot of projects before her time in WWE but this comes as a bit of a surprise.

Virtua Fighter 5 is still an incredible game and it will be interesting to see if this becomes a rage in the coming weeks.

Asuka missing out on title scene

The Japanese star was the champion before Rhea Ripley entered the scene on Raw. Ever since that, Asuka has been put on the back-burner with Ripley having a rivalry with the returning Charlotte Flair.

Asuka lost to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 37 (WWE)

Asuka then had a chance to win the title at WrestleMania Backlash but it was Ripley who came out on top in the triple threat match.

Nikki Cross is now part of the title scene but nothing has been said about Asuka. It will be interesting to see what she is up to next and she could do some motion capture for the upcoming WWE 2K22 game.
