Asuka is without a partner for her title match at TLC 2020
WWE RAW Women’s Champion Asuka is still in search for a partner to fight alongside her to defend her tag team title at TLC 2020 later this month.
On the last episode of Monday Night RAW, Lana beat Nia Jax in her singles match. The Mistress of Destruction’s quick thinking helped her reverse Jax’s attempt at a Samoan Drop and pin her to secure the win.
However, Lana was attacked Jax and her partner Shayna Baszler after the match. The attack on her helped WWE play an injury angle on Lana and pull her out from TLC 2020.
The keyfabe injury to Lana meant that Asuka was left without a partner to fight for the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at TLC 2020.
Since the incident, the Japanese superstar has been on the lookout for a new partner for her title match at this year’s last WWE PPV event.
Lana being pulled out from the event opened up many possibilities for Asuka. From picking one of the ‘Sexy Muscles Friends’, to being paired up with a returning Charlotte Flair, fans had an array of speculations about her next partner.
However, the WWE RAW Women’s Champion has provided a shortlist of her possible partners. She mentioned a few names that she could fight alongside at TLC 2020.
The names she mentioned are; Peyton Royce, Nikki Cross, Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Stone, and Lana.
While the last 3 names in the last (Ziggler, Stone, Lana) can obviously not be her partners for the match, the other 4 names can very well be in her team at TLC 2020.
Asuka even dropped a hint on Twitter that Peyton Royce could be her tag team partner, but nothing has been announced officially.
This seems to be a surprise element that WWE have in store for TLC 2020. Asuka is already holding one belt and it will be interesting to see if she can end the night as a double champion after defeating Jax and Baszler.
