Asuka drops a hint on who she wants to team up with at TLC 2020
WWE RAW Women’s Champion Asuka is scheduled to battle for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at TLC 2020.
However, the match had an air of uncertainty around it when her tag-team partner Lana was pulled out of the title match.
Lana beat Nia Jax in her singles match on this week’s RAW by way of a fortunate pinfall. Her quick thinking might have handed her the win on the night, but she was attacked by Jax and Shayna Baszler after the bell rang.
The two beat Lana brutally, helping WWE play an injury angle. Lana’s kayfabe injury lead to her removal from the title match alongside Asuka at TLC 2020.
Since then, the Japanese star ahs been on the lookout for a new partner for her match at the last WWE PPV of the year.
Asuka reveals who she wants her partner to be at TLC 2020
Lana being pulled from the event saw a lot of possibilities open up for Asuka. The Japanese could partner up with either Dana Brooke or the returning Mandy Rose.
People also speculated that Mickie James or Charlotte Flair could make a spectacular return to WWE by teaming up with Asuka.
There was also a possibility of ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ surrendering her title shot to the reunited Brooke and Rose. However, that does not seem like a possibility now as Asuka revealed who she wants to partner up with.
Peyton Royce tagged Asuka on Twitter and asked her for a title shot, to which ‘Kana-chan’ responded in a positive manner.
Royce has already won the Tag Team Championship once, which she did alongside Billie Kay. Asuka teaming up with ‘The Venus Fly Trap’ would certainly be an exciting advancement to this storyline.
Jax and Baszler are the champions at the moment, and it will be interesting to see what happens at TLC 2020.
