“Attitude Era” – Beth Phoenix explains why Edge went berserk during the Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan match

Edge lost his cool and attacked Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns during the Fastlane match

The Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan WWE Universal title match at Fastlane had a chaotic ending thanks to Edge.

The Rated-R Superstar was the special enforcer in the match and he was doing a good job when the referee was taken out.

However, Jey Uso interfering in the match led to a lot of madness. Edge and Bryan were attacked by Uso while Reigns was in trouble.

Bryan then used a chair on Uso and hit Edge by mistake. Reigns was also in a lot of trouble as he was tapping to the Yes Lock from Bryan. However, Edge hit Bryan back with the chair and then attacked Reigns too.

The Rated-R Superstar then left the arena as Reigns was able to cover Bryan and keep his title.

Edge attacking Bryan was a crazy move as Reigns seemed set to lose the title. However, Edge showed his other side too as he caused a lot of chaos in this match.

Many questioned why Edge had gone over the edge and his wife, Beth Phoenix hinted at why this might have happened:

The Attitude Era was when Edge went crazy and into his scheming persona. However, this attack seemed more like anger and frustration setting in and him sending a message to his rivals.

Edge vs Roman Reigns set for WrestleMania 37?

Reigns vs Edge was announced for WrestleMania before the Bryan Fastlane match. This result confirms that the WrestleMania 37 clash will go ahead but Bryan might have something to say about this.

The former WWE Champion had Reigns in all sorts of trouble and Edge could have called the match rather than attack Bryan.

Bryan could say that he should be the champion and Edge cost him the title. This would put the WWE in bit of a problem and it will be interesting to see what happens on SmackDown.

WrestleMania is just 20 days away and there could be more twists and turns along the way.
