John Cena made his return to the WWE recently, for the first time since WrestleMania 36
John Cena made his return to the promotion after more than a year. Cena’s last appearance was at WrestleMania 36 in a Firefly Fun House match against Bray Wyatt which had one of the most bizarre endings to a contest.
‘The Doctor of Thuganomics’ returned on the 18th of July at the Money in the Bank PPV and confronted Roman Reigns, making his intentions clear that he had returned just for the sake of the ‘Tribal Chief’.
Cena returned to one of the loudest crowd pops in recent sports-entertainment history, as the fans were in attendance at the Dickies Arena.
The WWE youngins were equally ecstatic as the fans to see their childhood hero make a return to the ring after a 15-month hiatus.
NXT star, Austin Theory was more than chuffed to meet his inspiration and idol. Taking to Twitter, Theory posted a picture of himself alongside Cena on the sets of SmackDown.
Theory went on to reveal how he had modelled his life based on the former 13-time WWE Champion:
“@JohnCena has always been my inspiration not just in wrestling but in life. I modeled my life at a very young age on what I seen him present on TV. Watching him was always my escape when things weren’t going so good in my life. He is without a doubt a true role model.”
WWE SmackDown women’s superstar suffered an ACL tear while training at the WWE Performance Center, ahead of Money in the Bank 2021.
The ACL left Bayley needing surgery, meaning – she would be out for almost 9 months.
Recently, she took to Twitter to claim that Cena was brought back because a massive ‘star’ like her was missing from the promotion.
“…..becauseeeee a cErTaIn SOMEONE is missing ……………………?
