Backstage News on upcoming Roman Reigns WWE opponents for the premium live events revealed
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns will reportedly wrestle Riddle, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre at three upcoming stadium shows, Money in the Bank- on July 2, Summer Slam- on July 30 and Clash at the Castle- on September 3.
However, as per reports from WON, none of these plans is etched in stone. Reigns are talking about wrestling the opponents as mentioned above at the three WWE Premium Live Events.
Reigns will be working TV most weeks while leading up to SummerSlam. “The Tribal Chief” is advertised for the 7/22 SmackDown in Boston and 7/25 RAW at Madison Square Garden. These shows will lead up to SummerSlam on July 30 in Nashville.
The Tribal Chief has also been announced for the August 19 SmackDown in Montreal, the final show he’s been advertised for before the Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff, Wales. However, it should be noted that WWE could always add Reigns to more TV dates leading up to the big three stadium shows.
It should be noted that Reigns has signed a new deal with WWE, which would all the megastar to work fewer dates on his schedule.
The possible return of a megastar could change WWE’s plan for Roman Reigns.
In September, Roman Reigns is rumoured to face Drew McIntyre at the Clash at the Castle event in the UK. However, all these plans might change if boxing legend Tyson Fury agrees to return to WWE, resulting in McIntyre facing Fury instead of Reigns.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plans for Reigns vs McIntyre could change at Clash at the Castle if a megastar return.
“The plan for the show as of right now is Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre as the main event, but if Tyson Fury is part of the show, it could change to him against McIntyre.”
Tyson Fury is a two-time world heavyweight champion and one of the most popular stars in the United Kingdom.
