Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar feud reportedly planned following WWE Day 1 PPV
WWE is reportedly planning to start a new storyline with Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley following Brock Lesnar’s win at WWE Day 1. As it was teased in the end, the glare they both shared at the end, and Lashley put Lesnar through the barricade twice, even though he didn’t receive even one F-5 from the Beast.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, it was disclosed that this WWE Championship match was to initiate Lashley vs Lesnar.
“With Lesnar having won the title, the next step is Lesnar vs Lashley. You could tell, at the end of the show, they teased that glare with Lashley and everything like that, and that was the last scene. The match was booked specifically for that direction.(H/t Sportskeeda Wrestling)
Lashley and Lesnar had several interactions during the match, and they never actually had a one-on-one game in WWE despite being often compared to one another.
Lesnar was inserted into the WWE Champion Fatal Five-Way match after Reigns was tested positive for COVID-19 and went on to win the title from Big E.
Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar clash is on the way soon
After Reigns tested positive, WWE changed certain things on the fly midday Saturday Reigns positive test. It was speculated that Heyman might make an interference that could cost Lesnar the match, but nothing like that happened.
Meltzer was also quoted saying,
“During the match, if you remember, Lesnar F5ed everyone but never F5ed Lashley, and they set up a couple of spots, which was the Lashley spear through the barricade. There was the Lashley spear in the ring, although Lesnar did kick out of that spear. Then there was the Hurt Lock, which Lesnar was trapped in, with the idea that Lashley proved he could get him in there and probably beat him, but Big E made the save there. They booked spots all to be dominant; all the spots with Lashley and Lesnar were booked for Lashley to look good while Lesnar pulverized everybody else and destroyed everybody else. So that’s the story of where they are going with this.”
