Batista was included in the 2020 Hall of Fame but doesn’t want to be part of the 2021 event

Former WWE Champion and current movie star Batista asked WWE to take him out of the Hall of Fame event to be held on April 6, 2021.

WWE could not hold the 2020 event due to Covid-19 but this year they are going ahead. Fans are expected to be at WrestleMania 37 too but Batista won’t be there. The 2021 Hall of Fame class will celebrate the inductees from 2020 and 2021.

So far, Eric Bischoff and Molly Holly have been confirmed as the 2021 Hall of Fame inductees.

The Animal was inducted into the 2020 Hall of Fame class but asked WWE to take him out. He posted an update on Twitter and confirmed that WWE would induct him in the future.

Batista wanted to enjoy the moment when a full crowd was available. Covid-19 guidelines could limit the fans inside the Hall of Fame ceremony and Batista also brought up that he had prior obligations he needed to tend to:

While Batista missing out is a blow to the ceremony, there are some other big names that will be inducted too.

Holly and Bischoff did a lot for WWE over the past two decades. The other names from 2020 who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame are JBL, The British Bulldog and Justin Thunder Liger.

Groups are also included in the Hall of Fame with the NWO (Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and X-Pac) and The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella) joining in the 2020 class.

The Hall of Fame ceremony kicks off WrestleMania and it will be interesting to see who else WWE have in mind for the 2021 class.
