Bayley and will battle Bianca Belair at WrestleMania Backlash
Bianca Belair will have her first title defence since she became the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 37.
It was an emotional clash between Belair, the Royal Rumble winner, and Sasha Banks, the then champion.
The first night of WrestleMania 37 featured an all-female main event and this was the first time two African-American females had headlined Mania.
There was a lot of emotion on the night and it was Belair who got the win. However, there wasn’t a lot of time for her to celebrate as WWE kicked on the road to Backlash.
This show is being called WrestleMania Backlash and Belair was to defend her title. Many would have predicted that Banks would get her rematch but Bayley strode in.
Bayley was the first real challenge for Belair after the EST of WWE was traded to the Blue brand. The Role Model was speaking about that and taking shots at the champion before her wish for a title shot was granted.
Bayley, who has become a top heel, also took a shot at Rhea Ripley in all this:
“HAHAHAHAHHA that was easier than @RheaRipley_WWE challenging @WWEAsuka!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
This was a take on how Ripley, on her RAW debut, just walked up to Asuka and asked for her title shot at Mania.
That was granted too and it was Ripley that won the gold from the Japanese at the grandest show of them all.

While Bayley took a shot at not only Ripley but also WWE creative with all this, the Role Model is a tough task for Belair.
Bayley still holds the record for longest reign as SmackDown Women’s champion and she too lost the gold to Banks.
The Role Model would be keen on winning the title back, however, Belair seems ready for the show.
Belair hinted that this was the first of her many title defences, and it will be interesting to see how this battle goes.
Belair has defeated Bayley in recent months but there could be a few tricks up the Role Model’s sleeve.
