Becky Lynch sported a new look ahead of WrestleMania 38
Becky Lynch appeared this week on RAW while Bianca Belair was cutting a promo inside the ring. The RAW Women’s champion attempted to blindside Belair with a steel chair. What happened next wasn’t memorable for the champion.
Belair was alert as she started her beatdown on Lynch. However, as Belair was going to pick up the steel chair to unleash on Lynch, “The Man” pulled her down by her hair. Lynch would hit Belair with a couple of steel chair shots. Then the veteran took out a pair of scissors that she had brought with her.
Lynch tried to cut Belair’s hair but the latter was quick to counter that into a KOD. Belair was furious as she delivered another KOD on the champion. After pondering a bit, Belair picked up the pair of scissors and gave Lynch a haircut from various angles.
Belair left the ring with some of Lynch’s hair and fans seemed to enjoy it which is a credit to Lynch because she has made her heel character work to perfection. Fans chanted “You deserve it” as Lynch looked on in disbelief. The 35-year-old was left fuming later on in a backstage segment where she called her WrestleMania opponent a “b***h”.
A couple of days after the unwanted haircut, Lynch posted a couple of photos on her social media handles. She was sporting a new look with shorter hair and deeper color that seemed more orange. She also added a caption saying that the jokes on Belair as she is looking “cool af” in her latest look.
The last time a hair cutting segment took place in WWE
Previously, WWE had many Hair vs. Hair matches but in recent times there haven’t been any. However, we were close to having one a little more than a year ago but the plan was changed later on.
The two best friends in real life and former Absolution members, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were involved in a fierce feud during mid-2020. The rivalry began when on an episode of SmackDown, Deville attacked the current NXT champion.
Deville became the heel figure in this feud with Rose being the babyface. They went back and forth for a few months. In another episode of SmackDown, Deville assaulted Rose and gave her a haircut. Their rivalry was set to culminate at SummerSlam 2020 in a Hair vs. Hair match.
During the lead-up to SummerSlam, however, there was an attempted kidnapping at Deville’s house. According to a report by Dave Meltzer, WWE changed the stipulation as Deville’s lawyers suggested that it wouldn’t be a good idea to appear in a court of law with a shaved head. The stipulation was changed into a No Disqualification Match that Rose won and Deville took time off from WWE. She returned as an on-screen authority figure which she is portraying as of now.
