Becky Lynch made an unexpected return to the WWE at SummerSlam 2021
Becky Lynch returned to the WWE after months in the grandest of manner. ‘The Man’ who had been away from the promotion due to pregnancy, took center stage at SummerSlam 2021.
It was initially supposed to be Bianca Belair or Sasha Banks’ night. However, it was revealed that Banks will not be facing Belair, and instead, Carmella would take her place.
In came Carmella. And just a few minutes following her entrance, Lynch’s entrance music began to play, even as a loud crowd pop welcomed her.
Lynch entered the ring and destroyed Carmella before going on to challenge Belair for the WWE SmackDown women’s championship.
Belair accepted Lynch’s challenge. However, the fight hardly lasted 30 seconds, as Lynch made light work of Blair to clinch the WWE Women’ SmackDown championship.
Although the crowd when Lynch got her hands on the title, just a few seconds into her fight, many weren’t happy with the way they “botched” Belair’s title storyline.
Her title loss was compared to Kofi Kingston’s loss to Brock Lesnar back in SmackDown 2019, when the blue brand made its debut on SmackDown.

Becky Lynch was thrilled to win the title. Backstage, interviewed by Kayla Braxton, Lynch had just a few words to say when asked about how it felt to be back.
Lynch said:
“The man is back and it feels good.”
Later that night, she took to Twitter and had just two words to say about her comeback.
Lynch wrote on Twitter:
“I’m back.”
