WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch reacts to this former WWE official’s release
Becky Lynch paid tribute to William Regal after being released by WWE earlier today. Regal’s legendary 22-year run with WWE ended recently due to changes to NXT 2.0.
Several top WWE stars had the honour of working under the guidance of William Regal, which also includes current Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. ‘Big Time Becks’ took to Twitter and sent a heartfelt message to her former manager, who was like a mentor and stated that she would always be grateful to her.
“Eternally grateful that Regal gave me a chance when I was nothing. I owe so much to him.”
‘The British Brawler’ played the role of General Manager during his time in NXT and was pivotal in building up the brand during its early days.
William Regal served as NXT’s on-screen manager while working as WWE’s Director of Talent Development and Head of Global Recruiting.
Regal was one of the most respected figures in WWE and was also a fantastic wrestler. WWE Superstar Johnny Gargano, Edge, Kevin Owens, Sasha Banks and others thanked Regal for his role in the company.
The Ring General’s release came as a considerable shock and since he was responsible for several deserving stars getting their big breaks.
“If it wasn’t for William Regal a lot of your favourite guys wouldn’t be on television. He got so many of us “indie guys” an opportunity. He will never take credit for that, but he deserves his flowers for helping and moulding this generation of wrestlers. #ThankYouRegal“
“There would be no Sasha Banks if it wasn’t for @RealKingRegal thank you for giving me a chance and believing in me. Forever grateful.”
Several other NXT-related officials have also been released by the company in the first wave of 2022 releases by WWE.
