Becky Lynch has recently confirmed that the original plans of her return were not actually SummerSlam.
The WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion has revealed that her actual return to wrestling was supposed to be at WrestleMania 37 and not SummerSlam.
According to talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy (h/t Wrestling Inc.), Lynch confirmed that WrestleMania 37 match was supposed to be her comeback match against Bayley. However, that plan could not take place.
Lynch also confirmed that she was not returning until October when suddenly she got a call from WWE in the week of SummerSlam, that made her return to the ring after the pregnancy break.
At first, during the SummerSlam event, Sasha banks were pulled out from the match against Belair, and she was replaced by Carmella.
However, Carmella was changed at the end moment by the returning Lynch, who defeated Belair in just 26 seconds and won the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Becky Lynch will face Bianca Belair at WWE Extreme Rules
Lynch, who returned at SummerSlam and defeated Belair to win the Championship title, will now defend her against the EST of WWE at Extreme Rules.
Last Friday on SmackDown, Lynch crashed the celebration party of Bianca when the show happened in her hometown Knoxville in front of her husband and parents. Belair was given honors by the Knox county Mayor WWE superstar Kane.
Extreme Rules will see Belair going for revenge against Lynch. The Man defeated her in just 26 seconds last time at SummerSlam.
