Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey had already been planned once for WrestleMania 2019
It has been quite a while since Lynch and Rousey appeared in the WWE. The last time Rousey appeared in the WWE, was the 2019 WrestleMania, where she lost a controversial triple threat match against Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
Lynch, on the other hand, renounced her WWE Raw Women’s championship last year, due to pregnancy.
While Lynch might appear once she is done with her maternity hiatus, it is unsure when ‘Rowdy Ronda’ would come back to the promotion.
Rousey also recently hit out at the WWE saying that she did not like the promotion’s “act of traveling.”
The latest development is that the WWE has been planning to set up a one-on-one contest between Rousey and Lynch, possibly at WrestleMania 38 or WrestleMania 39.
And according to sources, WrestleMania 39 seems more valid as it will be held in Rousey’s hometown of Los Angeles.
The report from WrestlingNews.co said:
“WrestleMania 38 in Dallas has been discussed but others in the company feel that it would be better to hold that match off until WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles since that is Rousey’s hometown and having L.A. host the show would guarantee more mainstream publicity.”
The match between Lynch and Rousey had already been planned for WrestleMania 35, but had to be shelved since Charlotte Flair was also included in the contest.
The match went ahead as a triple-threat bout, a winner-takes-all bout. Lynch controversially pinned Rousey to win both the RAW Women’s championship and the SmackDown one.
Lynch then went on to hold the RAW Women’s championship for an extensive period of time, before renouncing it.
