Edge is yet to decide his opponent for WrestleMania 37
Ever since the returning Edge won the Royal Rumble last month, the entire WWE Universe has been wondering who he will choose as his opponent at WrestleMania 37.
The winner of the Rumble, of course, gets to choose which title he wants to go after. WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns has looked like the most obvious choice.
Drew McIntyre, the WWE champion, is also one of the names in consideration. His wife, however, suggested something different this week.
Beth Phoenix posted a photo of Finn Balor on her Twitter account. She captioned it, “Imagine the possibilities…”
This is undoubtedly a big hint towards ‘The Rated R Superstar’ choosing Finn Balor as his opponent. Balor was on NXT Takeover: Vengeance Day this Sunday.
The NXT champion defended his belt against Pete Dunne. After a hard-fought, physical encounter, the ‘Irish Young Gun’ retained his title.
Edge was himself watching his potential WrestleMania 37 opponent on NXT this weekend
And one fellow WWE wrestler took particular interest in his fight. Edge himself posted a photo of Balor on NXT Takeover.
The Rumble winner took to his social media account to take a snap of his TV set, where Finn Balor was pictured on the PPV event.
NXT founder Triple H recently revealed Edge’s eagerness to be more involved in NXT. ‘Hunter’ even said that he has been in conversation with Edge for the past 1 year regarding it.
If he does choose Balor, it would be immense for the Gold brand. The implication of Edge choosing Balor over ‘The Tribal Chief’ and ‘The Chosen One’ would also be huge for the Irishman.
His final choice remains to be seen. It’s also possible that he is just building the hype towards his announcement and make the obvious choice of picking Reigns seem not so obvious.
