Beth Phoenix shows her happiness for Christian Cage joining AEW
In what has come as one of the biggest announcements in wrestling over the past few months, former WWE superstar Christian joined AEW earlier this week.
He made his debut at AEW Revolution. That’s a great move by the promotion but not so much for fans who wanted to see Christian teaming up with Edge again on WWE.
Edge made his WWE return at Royal Rumble 2020 and then one year later at the same PPV. And his wife, Beth Phoenix, was on hand to share her appreciation for Christian’s new step in his career.
Well, her contract with WWE surely doesn’t give her much wiggle room when it comes to mentioning their rival promotion. Nevertheless, the timing of her tweet leaves no doubt behind her intentions.
Edge and Christian were one of the most iconic duos in the history of professional wrestling.
Whatever your views may be with regards to the storylines they put, All Elite Wrestling are doing a great job in recruitment.
The company, headed by Tony Khan, has emerged as a genuine competitor to WWE. Christian’s announcement came just 2 weeks after the promotion signed Paul Wight.
Wight is, of course, The Big Show. And who could forget when they broke the internet when Sting made an appearance at AEW: Winter is Coming?
Christian is still agile and can hold his own in the ring. While Wight and Sting are mostly great signings based on their superstar factor, Christian is someone who can deliver quality wrestling inside the ring.
Christian’s partner, Edge, is on an upward curve of his own as he prepares to take on Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal title at WrestleMania 37 after he won the Royal Rumble in January.
