Beth Phoenix prepared for a WrestleMania appearance that never came
WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix has never fought in a singles match at WrestleMania.
Now that is a fact that you probably think is impossible when you first hear it. But when you do think about it, she really has never had that moment of solitary glory at the biggest stage in professional wrestling.
Beth The Glamazon has appeared at WrestleMania though, multiple times actually. She was in the Playboy Bunnymania lumberjack match in 2008.
The next year, she was in a 25-diva battle royal match. A couple of years later, she appeared in a 10-diva tag team match. Her last appearance on the grand stage came at WrestleMania XXVIII in a tag team match with Eve Torres.
This fact was posted on Twitter this week, and she took notice. More than that, she revealed that she was actually primed to fight in a singles match one time.
Beth Phoenix does not need a singles match at WrestleMania to validate her WWE legacy
She stated that she even had her gear ready for the fight, but unfortunately, it did not go through. Phoenix did not specify which WrestleMania that was, but it could have been the one that took place last year.
The former women’s champion was supposed to make a comeback at WrestleMania 36. However, WWE did not go through with it because they wanted to have as less talent involved as possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
She did appear in the 2020 Royal Rumble, though. Nevertheless, the three-time women’s championship does not really need a singles match at WrestleMania to validate her legacy.
Her time in WWE goes beyond the ring as well. The Glamazon is currently a commentator on WWE NXT and is doing a stellar job.
She was also involved in the storyline where her husband, Edge, ignited his feud with Randy Orton.
