Edge faces Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 37 (WWE)
Edge will have another great WrestleMania moment in a few days but Beth Phoenix spoke of one too
The Rated-R Superstar Edge will feature in one of the big WrestleMania matches next weekend. Edge faces Daniel Bryan and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns as he looks to capture the gold.
This is coming almost after 11 years since his last WrestleMania title match as he made a big showing at Mania 27.
However, there was another big story coming out in the aftermath of Mania 27. Edge, with the help of Christian, defeated Alberto del Rio and retained his WWE title.
There was more to come as Edge had to retire from wrestling due a serious neck injury. It was an emotional moment as the Canadian was in the prime of his WWE career, and leaving the business behind was tough to take.
Beth Phoenix, Edge’s wife, spoke about his entrance ahead of his WrestleMania 27 outing. She claimed that Edge had a ton of energy coming out:
“Ten years ago today I was standing beside Pat Patterson just us two in the gorilla position to watch #WrestleMania. @EdgeRatedR’s music hit and he blew by me out of nowhere like a dragon breathing fire. I’ll never forget that moment.”
It is possible that a few people knew about Edge’s retirement before this match, and that could have been more reason for the additional emotion and energy on that night.
The fans were certainly left shocked when Edge announced his retirement but there could be something special on the way in a week.
The Rated-R Superstar could become the champion again at WrestleMania 37, and he certainly has the bit between the teeth.
Edge has turned back to his heel self and has attacked Reigns and Bryan recently. However, it was Bryan who got the last laugh on this week’s SmackDown.
Bryan attacked Edge after the main event and then had Reigns in his Yes Lock. The triple threat match between the WWE stars should be an amazing spectacle, and it will be interesting to see who comes out of Mania 37 as the champion.
