Bianca Belair is the current WWE women’s SmackDown champion in her first reign
Belair has seen some surge in her WWE career. Having made her debut in the WWE in 2016.
She was an integral part of the NXT until 2020, but her real breakthrough came at WrestleMania 36 in 2020 when she turned face by saving the Street Profits from Zelina Vega, Angel Garza and Austin Theory.
In the very next episode following WrestleMania 36, she became a part of the RAW roster. Since then there was no looking back for Belair.
And today, she is the current WWE Women’s SmackDown champion – a title which she claimed after beating Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 37.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Belair revealed some of her weird pre-match rituals, especially during the night before her match.
Belair claimed that she would make her gear only the night before and contrary to people having a cheat meal after the match, she claimed that she usually has pizza the night before.
Belair first opened up about doing her gear the night before:
“I’m usually making gear the night before. That keeps my mind occupied and ready and calm, especially with my husband right beside me.” [via Sports Illusrated]
Speaking about her cheat meals, Belair said:
“People do their cheat meals after their matches, but I have pizza the night before,” Belair says, adding that the topping is usually pepperoni or, sometimes, pineapple. “That always helps relax me. Before the Royal Rumble, I picked up a pizza and stayed up all night and worked on my gear.” [via Sports Illustrated]
Bianca Belair reveals what she did the night before her title match at WrestleMania 37
Belair and Banks put on a show for the ages at the recently concluded WrestleMania 37.
Belair emerged victorious in a hotly contested match, which saw her become a WWE main roster champion for the first time.
In the same interview with Sports Illustrated, Belair revealed how she spent the night before WrestleMania 37.
Adding that it was her birthday, Belair claimed that she had a blast with her family, but also never failed to go through her pre-match rituals.
“Since the night before WrestleMania was my birthday, it was the best birthday ever. I don’t know how I’ll ever top it. I saw all my family at the hotel, and my mom brought pizza. My gear took forever for WrestleMania, so I was working on that all night, and I ate some pizza and opened a few gifts.” [via Sports Illustrated]
